What is this all about?
We are currently searching for talented students to join the ISC’13 EMCL team.
If you are interested in:
- what will happen on the hardware market tomorrow,
- get in touch with the HPC community and vendors,
- tuning and optimization of both soft- and hardware components,
- getting to know real-life scientific applications and frameworks,
- want to experience bleeding edge technology,
- challenging yourself to win an international competition,
this challenge is definitely what you are looking for!
What is the challenge?
The core of the challenge is to build and configure a cluster to run closely underneath a 3000W power limit. Architecture and hardware can be selected from a wide variety of both commercial versions and prototypes. But this task is only a guideline for what awaits you in case of your participation: marketing, programming, hands-on work, interviews, traveling and lots of training. You will not only get to know a lot of theoretical aspects of system architectures and and high performance computing topics – you will also be able to use your know-how immediately on a state of the art system.
You will compete with other international teams at the International Supercomputing Conference 2013 (ISC’13) in Leipzig.
What are we looking for?
Although Linux- and fundamental computer science knowledge will help you a lot, they are not required for your participation. What we expect of you the most is that you are willing and able to work in a team. If you are interested in participating in our ISC’13 EMCL team, fill out the contact form below and we will inform you about meetings. We are looking forward to hearing from you soon.
